First things first, I’m all about getting to know you. I send out a questionnaire that covers an array of questions from who you are, to your story, and any sentimental parts of your relationship.

The questionnaire is more than just a formality. I ask if there’s anything sentimental about your relationship that you’d like to incorporate into your session. Do you have trinkets with a story or meaningful items you’d love photographed? Bring them along! Whether it’s a cherished family heirloom or a symbol of your shared adventures, these elements add a layer of intimacy to your photos, making them uniquely yours. If you don’t, I ask if there is a specific spot in Colorado (or wherever the engagement sessions is) that holds a special place in the relationship for you.

It’s during this process that couples unveil unexpected stories. Perhaps you reminisce about those early dating days spent strolling through Boulder or the cozy afternoons at a downtown Denver brewery. These personal anecdotes often help to shape the planning process, and also adds an extra layer of authenticity to your story!
